¡¡¡¡Step1:Warming up: chant together.

¡¡¡¡Review the words and the sentences:

¡¡¡¡Did you…? What did you do yesterday?

¡¡¡¡Step2: bring in a monthly calendar.

¡¡¡¡T: When is Tree Planting Day?

¡¡¡¡Point to the date on the calendar to elicit responses from Ss.

¡¡¡¡Ss: It’s on March 12th.

¡¡¡¡T: What did you do on March 12th last year? Did you plant a tree last year.?

¡¡¡¡Gesture Ss to raise their hands if they planted a tree last year on March 12th.

¡¡¡¡T: Ten people planted trees last year.

¡¡¡¡Have Ss look at the page for a few minutes.

¡¡¡¡T: What are Gogo and Jenny talking about?

¡¡¡¡Ss: They are talking about Tree Planting Day.

¡¡¡¡T: Let’s listen to the tape and read the story.

¡¡¡¡Play the tape, pausing after each sentence to have Ss repeat. Then put Ss into pairs to practice acting out the dialogue.

¡¡¡¡Step3: Listen to the tape about Practice 1: allow Ss some time to look at the pictures.

¡¡¡¡Play the tape for A, and then pause. Have Ss point to the correct picture and put a checkmark in the box.

¡¡¡¡Repeat the procedures with the other three questions.

¡¡¡¡Step4: Listen and chant and then finish part 2: write down the missing words. At last, chant together.

¡¡¡¡Step5: Homework:

¡¡¡¡Finish Practice 2 and talk to your partners.
