At a quarter to twelve we have our lunch.
We sing and we play our records.
I like Monday.
I am painting a picture.
Then we have Maths and Science.
C: Functions: Asking and describing what people do
regularly and when they do.

A: Basic aims: 1. Listening: Locate specific information in
response to simple instructions
or questions.
2. Speaking: Maintain an interaction by
providing information in

B: Further aims: Add some other information as many as
possible.
Language focus:
1. Using nouns to identify events.
2. Using nouns to indicate time.
3. Using the simple present tense to express habitual
actions.
4. Using the simple present tense to express interests,
feelings and opinions.
5. Using the present continuous tense to describe an action
taking place at the time of speaking.
6. Using adverbs to indicate sequence.

Unit position: Students have learned the simple present
tense and present continuous tense. In this
period, they will continue to practise these
sentences.

1. Sing a song 2. Introduce: English, Chinese, Maths, Science, Music, Art and Craft and Physical Education by showing different textbooks. 1. Use the Word and Picture Cards to introduce: timetable. 2. Play the recording: Look and read. Students listen and follow in their books. 3. Give the students a few minutes to read the text silently. 4. T: How many lessons does Ben have every day? Which subject does he like? What time does he鈥�? 5. Ask the students to look at the pictures in Look and write. Give them a few minutes to decide which subjects the pictures represent. 6. The students write the words in the blanks. 7. Divide the students into groups. Ask each group to write a day鈥檚 timetable on the board. 8. Groups check against each other鈥檚 work. 9. Ask the students to read the questions in Ask and answer. Divide students into pairs. Ask them to find out their partner鈥檚 answers to Questions 2-5. 10. Ask pairs of students to report back. 11. Encourage the students to design their ideal timetable for a week in groups. Ask them to think of the subjects they like, the number of breaks they want and the time, etc. 12. Students exchange their work with the other groups. Workbook page 18 1. Ask the students to look at the pictures in the timetable. Ask them to guess which subject each picture represents. 2. Draw a similar timetable on the board. Invite individual students to complete the timetable. 3. Students write in the missing words in the speech bubble. 4. Invite individual students to read the completed paragraph. The rest of the class check answers. |
