  1. Using the present continuous tense to describe an action

  taking place at the time of speaking.

  2. Using prepositions to indicate position/place/directions.

  Pictures of country parks

  Unit position: Students have learned the present continuous

  tense. In this period, they will continue to

  practise these sentences. They can use

  prepositions to indicate position/ place/

  directions.

  Sentences:

  1. Sing a song

  2. Introduce: country park

  by showing pictures of

  country parks.

  T: Which country park

  do you like?

  1. Tell the students that

  the Lis are going to have

  a picnic in the country

  park. Write these

  sentences on the board:

  They eat breakfast. The

  Lis get up. They wash

  their faces and clean

  their teeth. Ask the

  students to put these

  three sentences in the

  right order.

  2. Ask the students to look

  at the pictures in Look

  and talk. Students then

  read the sentences in

  Read and write.

  3. Students work in pairs to

  match the sentences and

  pictures.

  4. Invite pairs of students

  to read the story to the

  class.

  5. Divide students into

  groups. Ask them to

  write the story again by

  adding some more

  sentences. Ask some

  guided questions to

  prompt the intermediate

  and less able students.

  1. Students look at the

  pictures about the Li

  family鈥檚 trip to Century

  Park.

  2. Students match the

  sentences with the

  pictures and complete

  the table individually.
