Step 4: Consolidation
1. Read the number cards from one to ten. Pay attention to “two” and “ten”, “four” and “five”.
2. A guessing game: Which number is missing?
3. Who is faster? Teacher mouth the numbers without saying them. The children read the teacher’s lips and then stand up to repeat the numbers. Let the children choose the winners who will get a prize.
4. Listen and act: Jump 3 times. Clap 9 times. Stamp 7 times….
Step 5: New Lessons (II)
1. Let the children watch the screen. Use“How many …?” to put forward questions. How many cats /dogs / red caps / green caps / books / pens / pencils? Five / Two / Six / Ten / Four / Three / Eight .
2. First for things shown by CAI, then for things in the classroom, at last for pupils in the classroom. How many boys /girls? Seven / Nine .
3. Practice the sentences in pairs . S1: How many caps? S2: Two.
4. A guessing game: How many ….? Show the children part of the pictures, let boys and girls ask and guess the numbers.
Step 5: Extension
1. Write down the teacher’s telephone numbers, and ask the children to say it out.
2. Ask the children to write down their own telephone numbers and tell the class or partners. 3. Then listen to some groups of telephone numbers and try to repeat it.
4. Show some special telephone numbers to the class, asking them to say and remember the important numbers in their life.(110 , 119 , 120 , 114 , 122)
5. Discuss Ask the children where they can use English numbers else. (Telephone number, car number, post-code, time, date, cinema ticket, room number, Maths, etc.)
6. Teacher demonstrates how to get lucky numbers.
Step 6: Homework Teach pupils’ parents to calculate and say their lucky numbers.
