Getting ready
T: look at the pictures. What are they?
Review the vocabulary with Ss.
Point to various pictures at random and have individual Ss name them.
Using the book
T: (point to the girl at the top of the page.) she鈥檚 asking, 鈥渨hose pants are those?鈥
T: they鈥檙e tony鈥檚 pants. Repeat.[Ss: they鈥檙e Tony鈥檚 pants.]
Point to several more pictures and answer questions.
Put Ss into small groups and have them ask and answer each other鈥檚 question about various pictures on the page.

Sounds and words
getting ready
t: let鈥檚 practice the sound /h/. look at my mouth and repeat.
Show how breath is constricted in the throat .
T: /h/.[Ss: /h/]
Using the book
Have Ss look at the words on the page.
T: let鈥檚 listen to the tape.
Play the tape and have Ss point to each word as the tape says it .
T: let鈥檚 listen again and this time, repeat.
Have Ss repeat after the tape.
After enough practice, point to the pictures randomly and have Ss say the words.

have Ss ask one another questions about the other pictures.
Using the book
T: let鈥檚 listen to the cant. Point to the pictures.
Play the tape once and have Ss point to the pictures.
T: is the hoer happy or sad? [Ss: it鈥檚 happy.] is its home hot or cold?[Ss: it鈥檚 hot .]
T: let鈥檚 chant together.
Play the tape and have Ss chant along.
