  Target

  Getting ready

  Bring up two Ss to the front of the class.

  Give two Ss picture card 43 sofa.

  T: (point at the two Ss.)whose sofa is this? Repeat.[Ss: whose sofa is this?] it鈥檚 theirs .repeat.[Ss: it鈥檚 theirs.]

  Give s1 a picture card 44 wallet, and have s1 hold up the card.

  T: (point at s1.)whose wallet is this? Repeat.[Ss: whose wallet is this?]it鈥檚 his/hers.[Ss: it鈥檚 his/hers.]

  Using the book

  Point to the two pictures and model the dialogs.

  Play the tape, pausing after each sentence so Ss can repeat.

  Practice 1

  Getting ready

  Point at and talk about the pictures.

  T: (point to jenny holding a stuffed animal under number 1.)whose stuffed animal is this?[Ss: it鈥檚 jenny鈥檚.]

  T: (point to the boy holding a cat under number 3.)whose cat is this?[Ss: it鈥檚 his .]

  Using the book

  T: let鈥檚 listen to the tape.

  Play the tape for number 1, then pause.

  T: whose animal is this? Circle the sentence.

  Draw a circle around it鈥檚 jenny鈥檚. with your finger.

  Continue with the other three numbers.
