飦 Hold up a ruler.
飦 Write can I have a ruler? And may I have a ruler? On the board.
飦 T: can I have a ruler? (Point to the ruler.) May I have a ruler?
飦 Explain that can I and may I are may I are the same.
飦 T: can I have a ruler? Repeat. [Ss can have a ruler?] Yes, here you are. (Hand the ruler to a student .)repeat.[Ss: yes, here you are.]
飦 T: can I have a ruler? Repeat. [Ss: can I have a ruler?]
飦 T: no sorry, (shake your head and take the ruler back from the student.)repeat.[Ss: no. sorry.]
Using the book
飦 T: let鈥檚 listen to the tape.
飦 Have Ss point to the pictures in their books.
飦 T: let鈥檚 listen again and repeat.
飦 Play the tape, pausing after each sentence to sentence to have Ss repeat.
飦 One group takes the role of Tony ,one plays the ice cream man, one plays Gogo and the group is the balloon man.
