  1.   the content is new and covers a much wider range about life, etc., coping up with the new era, eye-catching in design and color, hence very widely accepted by kids and students at different levels

  2.   the new textbook series, based on task-oriented theories, are more instructive and productive to kids, but will demand more for teachers to be suggestive and creative / reproductive in their teaching to bring out the students’ abilities and develop their personality in a very healthy way.

  3.   the content of most new textbooks has a lot to do with daily life and is closely connected with society and science, hence very practical with sufficient common-sense knowledge properly scattered in those separate books.

  4.   the greatest change in the new textbooks is that the teaching and learning need to be done in different ways from before. teachers must learn to adopt new ways and methods in accordance with the new curriculum. it’s a great leaping step forward to cope up with the english teaching and learning in other countries, english-speaking or non-english speaking.

  5.   the teaching mode is greatly revised and supervised. teaching should be conducted in a learner-centred way. the teacher is an organizer and assistant with very good spoken english and ability in dealing with class emergencies concerning learners and activities newly designed.
