Learning target: Learners ask about and describe personal possessions by doing a survey in groups about who has a pet and what the pet is like.
Materials: Multi-media, Word cards, pictures of animals, a photo of teachers鈥� pet, students鈥� books, tape
Teaching Procedures:
Pre-task preparations:
1. Say a rhyme
T: What animal can you hear in the rhyme?
Where is the little brown dog?
2. Talk about Doggie鈥檚 file (its name, colour, favourite things鈥�)
While-task procedures:
1. Elicit: pet
2. Judge what is a pet.
(Show some pictures of different animals, students judge)
3. Describe the characters of a pet.
T: Can you tell something about a pet?
4. Talk about students鈥� pets.
T: Have you got a pet?

5. Listening material
(listen to the tape and finish the chart)
