I. Warming-up: Sing and say together II. Revision: A Invite individual students to put a stationery item into your bag when you walk past. B Ask the students to point to the owner. III. New lesson: A Students listen and follow in their books. B Encourage students to guess the meaning of it by looking at the pictures. C Students listen and repeat. Students then practise the dialogue in pairs. D Invite pairs of students to do the role-play in front of the class. Have students vote for the best pair. E Ask students to read the dialogue in Ask and answer in pairs. Then form students into groups of six. Have each student put three things into the bag without letting the other group members see what he or she has put into it. F Students take turns to ask questions and play a game similar to the one in the Pre-task preparation. The fastest group to find out which object belongs to whom will be the winner. G For average and less able students, give more guidance e.g. For the blank in To: Tom (my____), tell them to look at From: Betty (_____ sisten). H Students then fill in the blanks in the DJ's speech bubbles. For a mixed ability class, have students work in groups to complete this Photocopiable page. Have more able students fill in the cards and less able students fill in the speech bubbles. I For more able students, encourage them to form groups and take turns to act as the DJ and the audience. Or you can make it into a class activity by having two DJs in front of the class reading aloud the forms and the rest of the class writing their message. IV. Homework: A Have students work in pairs and c0mplete Road B Invite pairs of students to read the dialogues to the c1ass. The rest of the class check answers |
Songs and rhymes A Review possessive adjectives. Carry a big bag and walk around the class. B Put the collection on your desk. Pick one thing up and ask, for example, Is this your pencil, (name)? to elicit: Yes, It鈥檚 my pencil-M it isn't my pencil. If you make a wrong guess, encourage the students to tell you who that particular object belongs to. For example, It isn't my pencil. It鈥檚 his/her pencil. A Play the cassette: Say and act. B Introduce: ride. C Play the cassette again. D Give each student a copy of Photocopiable page 7. Tell students that the DJ is helping his audience to say Happy birthday to their friends/classmates, etc. Have students choose the song they like so that they can fill in the form. E Workbook page 4 Students fill in the blanks individually. |
