  2. 学习课文中出现的新词modern和新的表达a building of two stories;前者可以借助音标帮助学生学习,后者可以通过为学生展示一组图片,请学生用这个词组说出这是一幢几层的楼房。

  3. 给出一组自己学校新旧对比的图片,请学生用联系生活实际用there is/are 和there was/were进行对比,并以此突破时态的难点。并可以组织小组活动谈谈 Great changes in our school.

  4.通过课外阅读让学生了解上海的巨大变化,拓展思路,扩大词汇量。综合运用学到的知识,培养写作能力。如:Collect information about the great changes in Yangpu/ Shanghai. 通过这个学习任务,使学生对用现在式和过去式对比描述的方法运用自如。

  课文教学方法:

  1.首先提炼出课文中主要的语言知识点包括all, answered with a smile, coconut tree及主要句型there was/were…it is/was。

  2.给出一组图片,请学生用to be与there be的现在时及过去时描述不同时间不同的状态,并可结合情景引入all的教学。给学生看例句,让他们体验all在句中的位置。

  3.将文章分解成若干段落,每段用不同的方式帮助学生复述课文内容,如提供关键词,句型图片支持,问答等。

  4.可以结合课文内容,贯穿德育教育的内容,如保护动物、关爱老人等。

  Great Changes In Shanghai

  Shanghai is in the east of China. Many years ago, it was a small fishing village. Only a few thousand people lived there. But today it is a big modern city. More than thirteen million people live there.

  In the last twenty years, great changes have taken place in every corner of this city. Older people remember that to cross the Huangpu River was a big headache some years ago. People came or went only by ferry. It took them half a day to cross it. But now six bridges stand high over the water, metro and tunnels dig deep under the water. How convenient! Let’s look at the roads in Shanghai. How clean and wide they are now! Lots of trees and flowers are on both sides. You can't imagine how small and shabby they were before. Tall buildings and green areas are everywhere. They make the city more beautiful.
