  通过比较,正确使用taller和 shorter来描述身边事物。

  教具准备:

  录音机、量身高的尺子

  教学过程:

  Step 1. Lead in

  Free talk

  T: What day is today?

  S1: It鈥檚 Monday, April fifteenth.

  T: How鈥檚 the weather today?

  S2: The weather is warm and sunny .

  T: When is your birthday?

  S3: My birthday is _____ .

  T: How old are you?

  S3: I鈥檓 _____ years old.

  T: Do you know how old I am? Can you guess? 让学生去猜测自己的年龄,激起学生的好奇心,让学生迅速进入到学英语的氛围之中。

  T: Do you know how tall I am? 教师利用手势提示学生,使学生明白教师在说身高。

  T: I鈥檓 1.67 metres tall. 教师站在量身高的尺子旁,并在尺子旁标上自己的身高,自问自答,呈现表达身高的新句型。

  Step 2. Presentation

  1. 教学小数的读法

  T: I鈥檓 1.67 metres tall. 教师边说边板书新句型。

  指着教具尺上的1.67,教学小数的读法,小数点读作point。引导学生读出尺子上的数字,之后大屏幕出示这些小数,鼓励学生去读一读。(1.2 1.35 0.57 2.65 1.84 2.35 0.73)

  屏幕出示一把尺子

  T: What is it?

  S1: It鈥檚 a ruler.

  T: How long is it?

  S1: It鈥檚 two metres. 教学单词metre(s),之后把刚才的小数标在尺子正确的位置上。加上单位名称让学生再一次读。

  2. 教学句型How tall are you? I鈥檓 _____ metres tall.

  T: I鈥檓 1.67 metres tall. How tall are you? 教师板书新句型,教师领读,学生跟读,采取不同方式的读直至学生能够流利说出。

  Step 3. Practice

  1. 师生问答How tall are you? I鈥檓 _____ metres tall.让学生到尺子旁量身高,用新句型说说自己的身高。师生对比,用tall和short来形容。

  同桌之间互相用尺子量身高,操练句型How tall are you? I鈥檓 _____ metres tall.

  T: Do you want to know your friends? How tall is your friend? Ask him or her鈥淗ow tall are you?鈥澖淌σ忌蚀穑滩倭沸戮湫汀

  教师指着一名班级中比较高又比自己矮的学生说You are 1.58 metres tall. You are tall in your class. But I鈥檓 1.67 metres tall. I am taller. You are shorter. 通过师生之间身高的对比,呈现taller 和shorter的概念,板书taller, shorter

  2. 屏幕出示姚明和周杰伦、Tom 和Jerry、长颈鹿和猴子几组图片

  T: What鈥檚 his name? How tall is he? Who is taller? Who is shorter?

  S: His name is Yao Ming. Yao Ming is 2.26 metres tall. His name is Zhou Jielun. Zhou Jielun is 1.73 metres tall. Yao Ming is taller. Zhou Jielun is shorter.

  His name is Tom. Tom is 0.73 metres tall. His name is Jerry. Jerry is 0.15 metres tall. Tom is taller. Jerry is shorter.

  The monkey is 1 metre tall. The giraffe is 6 metres tall. The giraffe is taller. The monkey is shorter.

  3.让学生自由读课文,同时在读的过程中发现问题,解决问题。

  How tall is Kim?

  How tall is Danny?

  Who is taller?

  Who is shorter?

  4. 屏幕呈现Danny3.1米高和1.2米高两幅图片,引导学生观察、理解stand on feet 的含义。

  5. 看书,跟读课文,注意学生的语音语调。

  Step 4. Consolidation

  1. 教师出示一些同学的照片和这些学生的身高。

  T: This is my class. Here are my students鈥 height.教师介绍自己班级学生的身高,为学生下面的活动作铺垫。His/her name is _____________. He/She is ______ years old. He/She is ______ metres tall.______________ is taller.______________ is shorter.

  学生以小组为单位,通过填表的形式调查小组同学的身高,并比较谁更高,谁更矮。之后找同学汇报。表格如下:

  2. Homework

  教师播放一段音频,是一封想和同学们交朋友的信件,听过之后,让学生通过填空的形式,写明自己的个人情况,给他回信。
