  Teaching Steps:

  Step 1:

  Greeting

  Step 2:

  Warmer Ask the students what things they can see in the sky. Get them to work in groups and write a list. Then get one student from each group to read out their answers. e.g.

  T: 鈥 read out your group鈥檚 list, please.

  S: 鈥 Planets, the sun, the moon, birds, planes. Then choose some students to describe one of the things on their list. e.g.

  T: 鈥escribe one thing on your list, please.

  S: 鈥 Planes are big and noisy. They鈥檙e long and they can have many people in them.

  Step 3:

  Review the usage: look like and some adjectives.

  A game (P28) Have the students copy this grid. Tell the students to draw the following things in each square. e.g.

  Draw a big star in Number 3.

  Draw a small and round planet in Number 5.

  Draw a moon that looks like a banana in Number 1.

  Draw a big and beautiful planet in Number 4.

  Draw a big and round sun in Number 2.

  On completion, have the students work in pairs. They must take turns to point to a picture and the other student describes it. e.g.

  S1: (points to Number5)

  S2: It鈥檚 a small and round planet.

  Step 4:

  Show new word: moon night banana at all

  T: Explain the word and let students make sentences using them freely. Show phrases: no 鈥t all in the sky

  T: Tell the students to pay attention to the usage 鈥渁t鈥 . And the

  Step 5:

  differences in/at /on Listen to the tape and try to answer the questions.

  Guessing game: Put the students in groups.

  One student in each group needs to record the group鈥檚 answers, but they must all participate in the activity.

  Tell the students to think of objects in certain groups. e.g.

  T: Think of things that are round.

  S: (talk within their group): Clocks, planets, the sun, a football.

  T:Think of things that are far away.

  S: (talk within their group): The moon, stars, planets.

  Step 6:

  Practice Have the students work in pairs.

  They should look round the room and take turns to describe objects they can see.

  They should try to include the adverb 鈥渧ery鈥 in their descriptions. e.g.

  S1: That window is very big.

  S2: That book is very small.

  Step 7:

  Do exercises on book and exercises-book.
