Step 1: sing a song to warm up:
If you are happy… . then ask some questions to review M9U1
---How are you today/How are you doing today? I am fine/ok/not bad/just so so/excellent!
----What is the matter with Lingling? Nothing.
–--Is Lingling sad/bored/angry? No, she isn’t.
---What is she doing? She is thinking(about sth)。
---What is Lingling thinking about? She is going to make a present for Christmas for Amy.
Step 2: Show pictures then ask some questions to present the new text:
--- What is the weather like yesterday?
--- It was raining yesterday
---Could Zara go out to play?
--- No, she couldn’t.she couldn’t go out.
---How was she yesterday?
---She was very sad.
---Then what did she do?
---She helped her mum make a cake.
---How did Zara feel later?
---he was hungry and thirsty.
---What did Zara eat and drink?
--- She ate with and drank some water.
---When the rain stop what did she do?
---She went out to play.
Step 3: Listen to the CD-ROM and let students repeat according to the pictures.
Then draw the key points on the text, try to make sentences by them: help sb. do sth. make a cake eat a cake with sb. drink some water go out to play
Step 4: Look at the big screen and try to fill in blanks to master the text.
Then let ss remember the key points:
1. Yesterday, it was _______. Zara __________go out. she was _________. she helped her mum ________ a cake.
2. After that, she was _______. she ______the cake with mum. she was very _______ .she _______some water.
3. Then the rain_______. Zara ______ out to play. Then Zara was _______.
Step 5: let ss read the text fluently and try to rewrite the text.
