本课和前几课相比，在内容和形式等方面都有所不同。 本课是以日记的形式来叙述已经发生过的一件事。所以，这一课里出现了前几课没有涉及到的时态问题。所以要求我们要学习并掌握日记的基本格式以及过去式的基本概念，基本结构和基本用法，还有由鈥榟ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪涞男问郊捌浠居梅ā�
教学目标：
1. 理解会说会用会写以下单词
Have a talk, helpful, write a letter, a king, pen friend, and keep a diary.
2. 学习并掌握日记的基本格式。
3. 了解一般过去时态的基本概念，基本结构以及基本用法。
4. 学习并掌握以鈥楬ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪涞男问郊捌溆梅ā�

教学重点难点分析：
1. 学习了解动词过去式，并能在实际生活中进行运用。
2. 学习并掌握鈥榟ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪涞男问郊捌溆梅ǎ⒛芙恍┏率鼍浣凶弧�
3. 学习了解英文日记的格式。
课前准备：
教师准备单词卡片，一张世界地图， 录音机和磁带。
教学过程：
1.热身（Warming up）
教师拿出一张世界地图，引导学生来复习以前学过的国家名称
China 中国
America 美国
Austrailia 澳大利亚
England 英国
在以上复习的基础上，教师和一个同学之间的对话引出本课要学的重点内容。
A：I will go to Hong Kong this year. It鈥檚 a good place.
B: What will you see in Hong Kong?
A: I will see many tall building in Hong Kong. What will you go?
B: I will go to Xi鈥檃n.
A: What did you see?
B: I saw Bell Tower. How great it is!
A: So this summer I鈥檒l go to Xi鈥檃n.
2.新课展示（New Presentation）
1）日记格式的学习
教师讲解：本节课我们要学习的第一个重点内容就是写日记。
教师拿出一个日记本，在黑板上出示单词 diary
英语日记和汉语日记的格式基本相似。
在正文上面一行写出星期，日期以及天气情况。接下来就是日记的正文，其格式和英文文章段落的格式一样，开头第一句要空出三到四个字母的位置。
教师举出一个例子
Sunday May 18th Sunny
Today is Sunday. . .
2) 一般过去时态的学习
教师讲解： Generally speaking, we should use the past tense because what we written were all past things. . 一般说来， 我们记日记的时候要用到过去时态，因为我们要在日记里记的事情都已经发生了。 所以什么是一般过去时态？如何用呢？
教师在黑板上写出 三个单词 yesterday, today, tomorrow
引导学生通过已经学过的一般将来时态和现在进行时态来理解一般过去时态。
Today 是表示正在发生的事情。
Tomorrow 则表示将来要发生的事情。
The past tense refers to the things or actions which happened in the past. 一般过去时态是指过去发生的事情或动作。
教师在黑板上写出一些句子，让学生自己管处出一般过去时态的结构。
I played football yesterday.
I visited Xi鈥檃n last year.
I learned English last night.
We talked right now.
在动词之后加上ed\d和表示过去的时间状语, 就能构成一般过去时态，
当然，不是所有的动词都是加ed\ d才能构成过去时态，还有很多特殊的。For example,
I came(come) to Xi鈥檃n last year.
I wrote( write) a letter （出示图片，写信）to my grandparents right now. (刚才)
He was (is) a teacher last year.
We were (are) 11 years old last year.
完整的一般过去时态还应该包括表示过去时间的状语，for example, yesterday(昨天), right now,（刚才） last week,（上个星期） last month, （上个月）last year（去年）
3）由鈥榟ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪洹�
教师讲解：本节课的最后一个重点内容就是有鈥榟ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪洹or example,
We were so happy. ----- How happy we were! (我们真开心啊)
It鈥檚 a lovely dog. ---- How lovely the dog is!
3. 小结
本节课我们一共学习了三个重点的内容，第一个就是学习英语日记的格式。然后我们学习了一般过去时态，包括它的含义，结构以及用法。最后我们学习了由鈥榟ow鈥櫼嫉母刑揪洹�
4. 巩固练习
1）时态之间的转换练习。
教师引导学生熟练巩固现在进行时态，一般将来时态和一般过去时态。教师将学生分成两组。教师说出一个句子，学生分别吧句子转换成另外两个时态。
T： I鈥檓 doing my homework.
S1: I will do my homework.
S2: I did my homework.
T: I visited my grandparents.
S1: I鈥檓 visiting my grandparents.
S2: I will visit my grandparents.
2) 感叹句
一般的陈述句和感叹句之间的转换
T： This is a beautiful coat.
Ss: How beautiful this coat is!
T: That is a great city.
Ss: How great this city is!
T：We were so happy.
Ss: How happy were!
出示 第47页的图片。
They had a talk happily. ------- How happy they were! (have a talk, 谈话)
It鈥檚 a helpful book. ------ How helpful the book is! (helpful---- 有帮助的)
He wrote a letter carefully. ----- How careful he was!
He was a great king. ----- How great the king was!
5. 听录音回答问题
A：What did he do that day?
B: He went to see his pen friend in Hongye Hotel.
A: Who is his friend?
B: His friend is Paul.
A: What did Paul do two days ago?
B: He came to visit China two days ago.
6. Do the exercise
Let鈥檚 practise（Ⅰ）
They are tall buildings. How tall they are!
We have a long table. How long it is!
Mother is cooking delicious fish. How delicious it is!
I went to see my friend Mike yesterday. We played basketball for a long time.
I went to see my friend Mary yesterday. We swam for a long time.
Let鈥檚 practise (Ⅱ)
We should read the diary carefully and when we answered the questions, we should pay more attention to the past tense. 我们应该仔细阅读日记，根据日记内容来回答问题，但是在回答问题时要注意时态的转变。
Where did he get the story book?
He got a story book from Wang Shi.
What鈥檚 the name of the book?
Its name is The Monkey King.
What did he do in China?
He took me to visit many places of interest in Beijing.
Will that book help him learn Chinese well?
Yes, it will.
