  (3) Show more pictures on the white board, ask the students to read them out in groups.

  2、Presentation

  (1) Show the students a photo of teacher’s foreign friend Dennis and his information including name,age,address,abilities,and his hobbies, introduce the teacher’s friend to the students, lead the students to say something more about their friends. (Individual)

  (2) Show the students the phrase of write to, then show them the teacher’s home address and e-mail address, and encourage the students to write letters and e-mails to the teacher.

  (3) Ask the students to listen to the tape of Module 5 Unit 1 once. (Just listen, Books closed.)

  (4) Play the tape for the second time, ask the students to follow after it .

  (5) Play the tape for the third time, pause, ask the individual students to repeat after the tape one by one.

  3、Practice

  (1) The students read the conversation in groups of four, and try to find out the answers to the questions on the board. The questions are: Can Daming speak English? Can Laura speak English? Can Laura write to Sam and Amy? Can Daming be Laura’s pen friend? Can Laura write Chinese? Can Laura speak Chinese? Can Laura write English? Can Daming write English?

  (2) Just now I heard from Yao Ming who wrote a letter to us children. Show the photo of Yao Ming and his words in the letter. (Hello, children. I’m Yao Ming .I can speak English and Chinese .I can play basketball well .I like basketball and swimming. Can you be my pen friend ?)

  (3) Look and match the questions with the answers.

  (4) Complete the sentences.

  4、Production

  Now it’s your turn to reply.( Hello , Yao Ming. I’m .I can .I can .I like .I be your pen friend.), ask the individual students to read what they wrote down on the pieces of paper.

  5、Homework

  You can do lots of things. That’s good. But there are still lots of things you can’t do. When we meet difficulties in our life, we should remember these words: Believe in yourself! I can do it!

  Write down three things you can do and three things you can’t do.
