2. Tell the difference between the sound /j/ and /z/ by the listening practice
T: Now /j/ is yellow. /z/ is zipper . I read them ,you tell me the words, Read Go! /j/
Ss: yellow.
T: /z/
Ss: zipper.
T: Now I tell you the word, you tell me /j / or /z/.
Zipper.
Ss: /z/.
T: yellow
Ss: /j /
3. Play the tape, have Ss listen carefully, read the sounds /j/ and /z/ after the tape.
4. Play the tape again, have Ss listen carefully , try to read the words after the tape.
5. Enable the students to try to spell the words and learn the meaning of 4 words together
