  Pre-task preparation

  Mother, father, sister, brother,

  Grandfather, grandmother.

  1 Elicit

  T: What cartoon star do you like?

  (Show the picture of Cherry鈥檚 family and introduce the members in her family)

  2 Read the words after the teacher.(show the words on the correct person)

  3. Word game.

  T shows the word cards, there are the words without some letters, the students should recognize what word it is and shout it out loud.

  4. Ask the students to spell the words for one minute then ask them to spell.

  Because all the kids like cartoon stars, so the teacher starts the lesson with talking about the cartoon characters, that will make them happy and enjoy.

  Help the students to see the spelling of the words. Because they鈥檝e known the meaning of the new words already, so the difficult things for them in this lesson are the pronunciation and the spelling.

  This is the game to check their feeling about the spelling. If they want to find out the correct word, they must recognize the key letters to find out what exactly word it is.

  To help the students spell the words in the class.

  1. Guessing game

  2. Read the book.

  T: show the photos

  S: guess 鈥淲ho鈥檚 this?鈥

  The whole class.

  Even though it is not difficult for the students to understand the meaning of the family members, but they still need a short time before they tell the others 鈥淭his is someone鈥檚 somebody.鈥. So this is the exercise for helping them to start their introduction more quickly and tell the others about someone more fluently.

  Read the new words with the tape. Get to know what part they are learning today. And following the tape can make their pronunciation more correct.

  3. Quiz

  1 Who is tadpoles鈥 mother?

  Frog or squid

  2 Who is more beautiful, chicks鈥 mother or father?

  Hen or rooster

  3 Which animal grows up with their father not mother?

  Seahorse or horse

  4 Do the bees in this picture have the same mother?

  Yes or No.

  5 The lion鈥檚 father and mother, whose hair is long?

  T: Show the questions

  S: show the lollipops of 鈥渁鈥 and 鈥渂鈥.

  The students already known the other names of the family members like cousin, aunt, uncle and so on. So we don鈥檛 enlarge the vocabulary for the students but just enlarge the information about animal fathers and mothers. This exercise can help them know about the nature world better..

  Post-task activities

  1. The pig鈥檚 family.

  2. Introduce your own family.

  1. Listen to the introduction of the mother pig for two times.

  3. Discuss in fours.

  4. T asks the questions about the mother pig, one group tries to answer the questions.

  5. Listen to the introduction of the cousin pig.

  6. Make Q&A in pairs.

  S1 introduces his family, the other Ss give the questions from the floor.

  In the real living, when we introduce our families to the others, the listeners often like to ask about some questions they don鈥檛 understand or something else want to know. These are two exercises for helping the students to introduce their families in the life like way.
