b) to give opportunities for expression of request of sth.
New lexis: sweets, dumplings, biscuits, noodles, ice creams, hamburgers.
Structures: can I have …? Yes you can. No you can’t procedure.
Aids: cards, pictures.
Teaching process:
Warm-up (2’)
1.Song: Can you throw high in the sky?
2.Do as I say: play basketball, go to the school, dance, read books, watch TV
Step1. Lead-in
1. Show a picture of a clock and ask ‘what’s the time?’
S: It’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
T: Can I watch TV? S: Yes, you can.
Step2. Teach the target language
1. Teach the word ‘shop’ and the phrase ‘go to the shop’.
Show a picture of a clock and ask ‘what’s the time?’
S: It’s 3 o’clock at night.
T: Can I go to the shop? S: No, you can’t.
2. Practice: ask students to use the phrases we have reviewed at the beginning of the class to make sentences.
3. Teach ‘have a drink’. Then teacher mimes that she is very thirsty and ask ‘Can I have a drink, please?’ S: Yes, you can.
4. Teach the word ‘ill’.
