一、教学目标
1. 让学生听懂、会说、会用句型“When did you go to for your holidays? Where is…?”It’s in the north/south/east/west of China.
2. 运用句型Where is…?”It’s in the north/south/east/west of China.描述某个地方的方位。

能说、会用句型“When did you go to for your holidays? Where is…?”It’s in the north/south/east/west of China.”
三、教学难点:
运用所学描述某个地方的方位。
四、教学用具:
录音机、单词卡、磁带。
Teaching steps:
Step1、Warmer
(1)教师出示一个指南针并标出“west, east, north, south”四个方向。
(2)Let’s chant:
East, east, east, Shanghai is in the east of China;
West, west, west, Xinjiang is in the west of China;
South, south, south, Hainan is in the south of China;
North, north, north, Beijing is in the north of China.
Step2、Presentation
(1)教师出示一张中国地图,说明地图上各个方向的代表城市,提问学生:“Where is Sanya?”引导学生说出:“It’s in the south of China.”请几名学生到前面来当“小老师”,模仿老师的样子问其他学生。最后教师指着新疆对学生说:“We know that Lingling went to Xinjiang last year. Her grandmother lived there, and she had a wonderful time there. What did she do there? Do you want to know? Ok, let’s look at the text and find it.”
(2)呈现课文内容,请学生观察后,试着回答以下问题:图中有几个人?他们都在做什么?
(3)请学生翻开课本,教师播放课文录音,结合书上的图片,请学生回答以下问题:
A、When did Lingling go to Xinjiang?
B、Which mountain did Lingling climb?
C、Which lake did Lingling visit?
D、 Did she have a good time?
请学生在听录音的同时,用笔勾出不认识的单词和短语,根据插图和上下文猜测每个生词的意思。
(4)教师再次播放录音,在每句话后停顿,请学生跟读并模仿录音中的语音语调。然后请几个学生在全班朗读课文。
及时纠正学生发音不准的单词。
(5)请学生同桌两人一起讨论课文中的插图,运用本课的重点句型,发挥自己的想象描述出图片的内容,练习用英语表达,看看谁的描述最有新意。
Step4:音标教学:请学生听录音认真模仿,教师讲解发音要领。
Step5: 结束课文教学
