  Teaching difficulties:

  Review the words and sentences.

  Free talk with the sentences have learned.

  Teaching aids:

  Tape-recorder, pictures

  Step 1 Warming up:

  1. Revision.

  What are these?

  They are books.

  How many books are there?

  There are four books

  2. Ss answer the question in turns with English:

  How many books are there?Let鈥檚 count.

  There are seven/eight/nine/ ten books.

  3. Look at the picture of part D and answer:

  What are they talking about?

  How many stars are there?

  4. Ss listen to the tape-recorder and read after it.

  Step 2 Presentation and drill

  Ss read part D in 2 different groups.

  Ss act Part D In pairs.

  Step 3 Practice

  1 Quick response:

  T: What are they? How many apples are there?

  Ss:Eight apples.

  2. Listen to the tape, read after the tape.

  3. Make performances.

  Step 4. Consolidation

  1. Free talk.

  2. Assessment.

  3. Exercises book

  Handwriting on the blackboard:

  How many pens are there?

  There are four pens.
