  教案背景:

  小学六年级英语阅读课

  教学课题:

  苏教版牛津小学英语6A Unit6 Holidays

  教材分析:

  本单元主要围绕谈论节日里所做的事情‖这一话题展开教学。这一单元的内容体现了浓郁的东西方文化特点,是一个学生十分感兴趣的话题。我将零散的节日分为三类:中国传统节日(Chinese festivals), 西方节日(Western holidays)和国际性节日(International holidays)。本课时教授中国传统佳节—Chinese Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival和Dragon Boat Festival,同时扩充了原文中没有的元宵节(Lantern Festival), 重阳节(Double-ninth Festival), 清明节(Qing-ming Festival)等。学生通过对中国四大传统佳节的时间、代表食物和人们的活动的初步了解,学习本单元的四会句型When‘s…? It‘s in/ on… What do people usually do at…? They…

  教学方法:

  1. 直观法

  通过大量网络中搜索到的相关节日的图片、声音和视频活动,让学生从视觉、听觉等角度直观地了解这些节日及活动,图文并茂,活泼生动,调动了学生的学习兴趣,加大了课堂的信息容量,优化了教学方法。

  2. 自主探究法

  用类似Jigsaw reading的方式开展自主阅读并交流信息,通过Self reading、share reading的独学、对学、群学方式提升课堂效率。

  教学目标:

  1. 能听说读写以下中国传统节日:Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival

  2. 能了解并听说读写以下中外节日中人们的活动(下划线表示新单词):visit relatives and friends, eat lots of delicious food, get red packets, play fireworks, watch dragon and lion dances, watch the moon, play with lanterns, eat moon cakes, eat rice dumplings, watch dragon boat races, eat sweet dumplings, watch lanterns.

  3. 能熟练掌握句型:When‘s…? It‘s in/ on… What do people usually do at…? They…

  4. 学唱歌曲:The months

  5. 灵活运用所学知识向国外友人介绍中国传统节日及活动

  情感目标

  1.文化渗透:通过对中外节日的比较和学习,使学生了解中西文化差异。

  2.情感渗透:培养学生热爱、庆祝中国传统节日的品质。

  教学重点:

  1、了解中国传统的四种节日名称和日期

  2、熟练运用主要句型询问节日里人们的各种活动

  教学难点:

  1、节日时间及大量活动的记忆

  2、灵活运用所学知识向国外友人介绍中国传统节日

  课前准备:

  1. 教师准备

  网络、多媒体课件 、灯笼,鞭炮烟火图片,随意帖 、阅读,听力材料,信封,信纸 、 单词句型卡片

  2. 学生准备

  上网搜索各类资料了解中国传统节日的由来及习俗。

  教学过程:

  一、热身活动

  1、Free talk:

  T: Hello, children, what day is it today?

  Ss: It‘s Thursday. What date is it today? (It‘s Nov. 22nd)。

  How many months are there in a year? (There‘re 12.)

  Let‘s sing a song about month, O.K? (O.K!)

  2、Sing the song together: The months.

  二、新课教学

  阅读前(Pre-reading)

  1、T: There are 12 months in a year.

  And there‘re many holidays in the 12 months. Children‘s Day, Teachers‘ Day, Lantern Festival, Valentine‘s Day, Easter, Mother‘s Day…。

  They are all holidays or festivals.

  T: Do you know what holiday it was Oct.31st? (Halloween)

  T: Do you want to know what western people do on Halloween? (Yeah.)

  T: O.K. My American friend Kate sent me an e-mail about their Halloween in the US. Let‘s check it out. ( listening and reading)

  (e-mail: Dear Sally I was very excited last Wednesday. It was Halloween.

  I made many different terrible masks and pumpkin lanterns with my cousins. In the evening, we dressed up in costumes and went to parties. And then, we went to our neighbors' houses and asked for sweets. We rang their doorbells and yelled,‘Trick or treat!’

  They gave us many yummy sweets. It was really fun!

  Are there any interesting holidays in China? Tell me something about them, O.K? Have a nice day! Kate)

  Question: What did Kate do on Halloween? (She made masks and pumpkin lanterns, went to parties and asked for sweets.)

  2、T: Kate wants to know something about Chinese holidays.

  Could you tell her something? 阅读中(While- reading)

  T: Let‘s talk about our biggest festival—Spring Festival first, OK? (spring festival music and picture)

  Spring Festival is usually in Jan. or Feb. It‘s very popular in China.

  At Spring festival, everyone is excited and happy.

  They say gongxi gongxi‖ to each other.

  People hang big red lanterns and stick on couplets.

  What do you usually do at Spring Festival? (I usually go shopping with…/ play with friends…)

  Spring Festival (the sound of fireworks)

  (1) visit relatives and friends Teach relative‖ T: Who‘s your relative? Ss: My aunt/uncle/ cousin/ grandfather… is my relative.

  (2) eat lots of delicious food T: You go to your relatives‘ houses and visit them. You have a big dinner together.

  There‘s lots of delicious food. You eat lots of delicious food.

  Teach delicious‖ T: What is delicious?

  Ss: (mouth watering) Chick/ KFC/ Ice cream… is delicious

  (3) get red packets

  T: At the dinner table, your relatives give you some red packets, right?

  That‘s the most exciting thing! You‘ll be very happy!

  Teach get red packets‖ T: Who are the red packets usually from?

  Ss: I get the red packets from…/ My … give me red packets. (give red packets to those who gives good answers.)

  (4) play fireworks

  T: After the big dinner, it‘s time for fireworks! Teach fireworks‖

  T: Can you describe fireworks‖?

  Ss: The fireworks are colorful and beautiful.

  Some are red and yellow. Some are blue and green. They fly into the sky and break up. We play fireworks on holidays.

  (5) watch dragon and lion dances T: There‘s another typical activity that people usually do at

  Spring Festival. What is that? Do you know? Let‘s watch a video of dragon and lion dances.(连接网络观看舞龙舞狮视频)

  Teach dragon and lion dances‖。

  T: Did you watch dragon and lion dances last Spring Festival? Ss: Yes, I watched it on TV./ No, I didn‘t.

  (6) Review the activities people usually do at Spring Festival, read the passage, finish the table.

  Holiday Date People usually do Spring Festival Jan/Feb visit relatives and friends, eat lots of delicious food(dumplings), play fireworks, get red packets, watch dragon and lion dances

  Talk about other three Festivals in groups.

  T: We still have three Chinese festivals. Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. Which one do you like? (I like…)

  We have three groups, go to your group, read the passage about your favorite festival, and finish the table with your group members.

  (1) First reading: Read each passage quietly, find out the date of the festival.

  (2) Second reading: Find out the food that people eat at each festival.

  (3) Third reading: Read again, try to find out what people usually do at the festival. Underline their activities. Try to guess the meanings of new words according to the contest.

  Talk about three festivals together: Mid –Autumn Festival

  T: When do we eat moon cakes?

  Ss: Mid –Autumn Festival.

  T: When‘s Mid –Autumn Festival?

  Ss: It‘s in September or October.

  T: The Mid –Autumn Festival is just passed.

  Let‘s think back. What did we do at Mid –Autumn Festival?

  What do people usually do at Mid –Autumn Festival?

  Ss: They watch the moon and eat moon cakes.

  T: Yes, do they play with lanterns?

  Ss: Yes, they do.

  Teach the phrases quickly: watch the moon / eat moon cakes/ play with lanterns (Group1 read the passage about Mid-Autumn together.)

  Lantern Festival

  T: Fourteen days after Spring Festival is Lantern Festival. What do people usually do on that day? (face to Group1 and Group3)

  Do you want to know something about Lantern Festival? You can ask members in Group2.

  G1: When‘s Lantern Festival?

  G2: It‘s fifteen days after Spring Festival.

  G3: What do people usually do at Lantern Festival?

  G2: They usually eat sweet dumplings and watch lanterns. (teach eat sweet dumplings and watch lanterns quickly)

  T: Look, I‘ve got a big lantern, is it beautiful? (Put it on the blackboard.) Let‘s watch lanterns.

  riddles written on lanterns T: There‘re always some riddles on the lanterns. Children like to guess the riddles and they‘re always right. Look at the big lantern with some riddles on it. Do you want to have a try? (Yeah)

  (1) Ss: When‘s the holiday? T: It‘s in Jan./Feb. Ss: What do people usually do? T: They usually play fireworks and watch dragon and lion dances. Ss: It‘s Spring Festival. T: You got it!

  (2) T: The festival is in May or Jun. People usually eat rice dumplings and watch dragon boat races. What‘s the holiday?

  Dragon Boat Festival T: It‘s Dragon Boat Festival. Group3, Could you tell us When‘s Dragon Boat Festival and what do people usually do at Dragon Boat Festival?

  G3: People eat rice dumplings and watch dragon boat races.

  T: Yes. Dragon Boat Festival‖ is called Dragon Boat Festival because Dragon Boat Races!

  Let‘s watch a video of ‗dragon boat races‘ on the Internet(上网浏览“龙舟赛”视频)。

  T: Every Dragon Boat Festival, some people have Dragon Boat Races, winners and losers are both very happy.

  That‘s the famous races in China. Let‘s have Dragon Boat Races between three groups, OK?

  Ss: OK. Dragon Boat Races, Dragon Boat Races…(row boats)

  T: But we don‘t take part in the races, we just watch Dragon Boat Races. Teach ‗watch Dragon Boat Races‘

  Fourth reading: Read the passage carefully, finish the table of your favorite festival. Holiday Date People usually do Spring Festival Jan/Feb visit relatives and friends, eat lots of delicious food(dumplings), play fireworks, get red packets, watch dragon and lion dances

  G3: Lantern Festival fifteen days after Spring Festival eat sweet dumplings, watch lanterns

  G2:Dragon Boat Festival May/Jun watch dragon boat races, eat rice dumplings

  G1:Mid-Autumn Festival Sept/ Oct get together and have a big dinner. eat moon cakes, watch the moon, play with lanterns

  三、阅读后(Post reading)

  1、Reply Kate‘s e-mail We‘ve learnt so many holidays in China. Now time to write back to Kate and tell Kate something about Chinese festivals. Choose your favorite holiday, tell her what people usually do on that day. OK? Here‘s the model.

  2、Choose one or two students read their e-mails.

  2、Introduce other traditional holidays in China: Qing Ming Festival, Double Ninth Festival, Chinese Valentine‘s Day…

  3、End: Chinese Festivals have thousands of years of history. It tells us love and respect. Spend more time with your family.

  Love your parents and relatives more. Love our country more! OK?
