　　1. Bring in a birthday card with a large number 11 on it, a picture of a birthday cake, a box wrapped in fancy paper and ribbon. Bring a puppet as well. Tell the pupils that today is the puppet’s birthday.

　　2. Present the new words “ candle/ribbon/card/present” with the sentence pattern “ what can you see?”Practice one by one in a line-------over-head show.

　　3. Point to the ribbon and say It’s pretty. Do the same for the present. Then draw a happy face on the board, point to the puppet and say “He’s happy.”

　　4. Spell words/ recognize expressions, words
