Step2. Presentation and practice (20分钟)
Show a picture of a zoo. Ask students to say it in Chinese.
T: Look! What’s this? (这是什么?)
S: (动物园)。
T: Good! Can you say some animals( 动物) in Chinese. Then imitate the sound, please.(模拟其声音)。如:猫:miao-miao-miao-miao.
S: Say some animals and imitate the sounds.
T: Great! Now let’s listen : what’s this ?(播放猫的叫声)
S:猫。
T: Very good!
Show a picture of a cat.(出示猫的图片) Teach the students the word .( Read and spell)
T: Read after me : cat [kAt] 猫 [kǽt] [kǽt] [kǽt] c--a--t, cat(出示幻灯片,图片、单词(逐个拼写))
Then ask the students to read this word one by one (or group)
Read the chant: cat cat cat , I’m a cat.( 拍手打节奏并作出相应的动作)
Then read the chant by groups.(分小组朗读韵律诗)and check them ,if they make any mistakes ,correct it directly.
T: Now listen , what’s this?(播放狗的叫声)
S; 狗。
T: Very good!
